Roma close on leaders

Second-placed AS Roma fired a warning shot to Internazionale that they are still in the title hunt after defeating Sampdoria 2-0 on Saturday evening.

Francesco Totti scored both goals - the first of which came from the penalty spot - as Roma made light work of ten-man Samp.

Sergio Volpi was sent off the visitors early in the second half at the Stadio Olimpico as Roma moved to within four points of the league leaders.

Elsewhere, Genoa won for the first time in nine games with a 1-0 victory over Parma at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Marco Borriello's penalty two minutes before the half-time interval secured the points for the mid-table club.
