BMW have set the ambitious target of winning their first grand prix when the new season gets underway.
In a season dogged by controversy the German marque's progress through 2007 was a definite highlight.
The team accumulated 103 points and finished second in the Constructors' Championship.
And BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen is adamant that the Hinwil-based outfit can take a leap and compete for race wins against Ferrari and McLaren.
"For 2008 we have set ourselves the target of closing the gap to the leading teams," he said on the team's official website. "In addition we intend scoring our first Grand Prix victory."
PF-1 complied a list of BMW's fastest lap time from six grands prix through the season. We then compared them to the best lap of the race and found that the gap was whittled down as the season progressed.
Nonetheless, BMW still need to work on their overall race pace if they are to challenge.
