Bridgestone Tie up New Deal

Bridgestone have officially become the sole tyre supplier to F1 from next season through to 2010.

The Japanese manufacturer became the only supplier when Michelin left the sport at the conclusion of the 2006 season.

However, the deal to make Bridgestone the official supplier has only been signed now despite an agreement being reached with the FIA 18 months ago.

Bridgestone's director of motorsport Hiroshi Yasukawa told Autosport: "Becoming the 'Official Tyre Supplier to the FIA Formula One World Championship' is a prestigious honour for Bridgestone and we await the start of the 2008 season with great anticipation.

"Our participation in Formula One is a core element of our company's expansion and development and this is an exciting step for us as a company."
